As Christmas draws closer it’s going to get increasingly hard for teachers to avoid adding some festive fun to regular lessons.
Luckily, Teachit Primary make it easy to plan your lessons for the festive period, offering a huge selection of Christmas themed resources for all year groups.
By adding a seasonal twist to lessons, your students will engage more with the tasks they are set and will be able to solidify their knowledge after using their learning in different environments and for different purposes.
Take a look at some of our favourites:
Writing letters to Santa is a fun activity to get children excited for Christmas, but it is also a good way to get them practicing their writing and persuasion skills. Rather than just getting the children to ask Santa for a list of presents, they will need to focus hard on spelling, how neat their writing is and on the structure of their letter.
This resource is great for teaching your students about other cultures. The idea is to get children to research how different countries say Merry Christmas, as well as getting them to colour in the flag of each country. Children are naturally inquisitive, so this task is great for allowing them to be curious whilst also teaching them new information about foreign countries.
- Christmas Stars Shape Investigation (available for KS1 and KS2)
This shape investigation resource is great for encouraging the learning of geometry. Students must see how many of each shape they can find hidden within the image, which is deceivingly difficult. It’s a great resource for getting brains working and for being more creative during maths lessons.
There are so many other useful resources out there for teaching all year groups and subjects, these are just a few of the ones we like best for Christmas!
